Methods for checking your ring size at home

Printable ring sizer

Our Head of Product Design Kirsty Brown says "The best way to size your finger is to print out the guide, make sure it's to scale on your printer, and get a ring that you know fits whichever finger you want it to fit on really really well, and use that as a base. Place it on the guide and see which ring rail fits nicely into that ring. The alternative is if you carefully cut out the inside of that circle, you can pull that over your finger and see if it fits."

DIY string or paper method

Another simple yet effective technique involves using a piece of string or paper to measure your finger's circumference. Wrap the string or paper around the base of your finger, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit. Mark the point where the string or paper overlaps, then measure the length with a ruler in millimetres. Once you have the measurement, refer to a ring size chart to determine your size.

Use existing rings

If you already own a ring that fits comfortably, you can use it as a reference to gauge your ring size. Place the ring on a piece of paper and trace the inside circumference. Measure the diameter of the circle in millimetres, then refer to a ring size chart to find your size.

Tips for accurate at-home ring sizing

  • Measure your finger at different times of the day, as finger size can change.
  • Make sure the ring sizer or measuring tool is snug but not too tight for an accurate measurement.
  • Consider the width of the ring band when determining your size, as wider bands may require a slightly larger size for a comfortable fit.
